| Format: | This volume contains the proceedings of the Intenational Meeting on Excitons in confined Systems, organized by the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) and by Second University of Rome "Tor Vergata". The Meeting was Held at the CNR Research Area of Rome in Montelibretti, 13 - 16 april, 1987. About 50 partecipants came together for this period to exchange their ideas in intense scientific disscussions.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the thoretical and experimental aspects of excitons in many different confined systems, from semi-infinite solids to quantum wells. The main idea was to bring together people wiyh different cultural backgrounds to discuss and compare the concepts involved in the different systhems
